چکیده

The Optical Transpose Interconnection System (OTIS) was proposed by Marsden et al. [Opt. Lett 18 (1993) 1083–1085] to implement very dense one-to-one interconnection between processors in a free space of optical interconnections. The system which allows one-to-one optical communications from p groups of q transmitters to q groups of p receivers, using electronic intragroup communications for each group of consecutive d processors, is denoted by OTIS(p, q, d). H(p, q, d) is the digraph which characterizes the underlying topology of the optical interconnection implemented by OTIS(p, q, d). A digraph has an OTIS(p, q, d) layout if it is isomorphic to H(p, q, d). Based on results of Coudert et al. [Networks 40 (2002) 155–164], we show that De Bruijn digraph B(d, n) has an OTIS(d ′ , dn+1−p ′ , d) layout if and only if gcd(p, n + 1) = 1. We also prove that H(p, q, d) is a line digraph if and only if d | gcd(p, q). Keywords–OTIS layout, line digraph, De Bruijn digraph.

Topologies for Optical Interconnection Networks Based on Otis

Many results exist in the literature describing technological and theoretical advances in optical network topologies and design. However, an essential eeort has yet to be done in linking those results together. In this paper, we propose a step in this direction , by giving optical layouts for several graph-theoretical topologies studied in the literature, using the Optical Transpose Interconnec...

Theoretical Aspects of the Optical Transpose Interconnecting System Architecture

An attractive way of implementing efficient local interconnection networks is to use the Optical Transpose Interconnecting System (OTIS) architecture proposed in [8]. This system allows to optically interconnect some set of processors in a Free Space of Optical Interconnections (FSOI). Briefly, it consists of two lenslet arrays allowing a large number of optical interconnections from a set of t...

On connectivity of consecutive-d digraphs

The concept of a consecutive-d digraph was proposed by Du, Hsu and Hwang as a generalization of de Bruijn digraphs, Kautz digraphs, and their generalizations given by Imase and Itoh and Reddy, Pradhan and Kuhl. In this paper we determine the connectivity of consecutive-d digraphs and study how to modify consecutive-d digraphs to reach maximum connectivity. Our results will generalize and improv...

On the Domination Numbers of Generalized de Bruijn Digraphs and Generalized Kautz Digraphs

This work deals with the domination numbers of generalized de Bruijn digraphs and generalized Kautz digraphs. Dominating sets for digraphs are not familiar compared with dominating sets for undirected graphs. Whereas dominating sets for digraphs have more applications than those for undirected graphs. We construct dominating sets of generalized de Bruijn digraphs where obtained dominating sets ...
